Profile
For over 30 years, Alexandra (Sandra) Hedrick has handled legal matters throughout Florida and in other states. After many years of serving as counsel to parties and individuals in state and federal courts, Ms. Hedrick was increasingly drawn to the benefits of mediation and other forms of alternative dispute reolultion.
In the mid-1990s, Ms. Hedrick trained to become a mediator in addition to her work as a trial lawyer and legal counselor. Today, Ms. Hedrick works only as a mediator and in other neutral roles such as arbitrator and special master. During her mediation conferences, parties attend with their lawyers to talk through the problems that gave rise to the dispute. In this confidential setting, they explore solutions that can be achieved without the further cost and expense that comes with litigation. At the end of the conference, the settlement reached is recorded in a written document.
Mediation can occur anytime after a dispute arises. Ms. Hedrick's experience includes many successful conferences that took place before any litigation was filed. She has also assisted non-profit/religious organizations in applying the techniques of mediation to solve internal or external problems.
